Tuesday Marks One Year Since Richmond County Deputy Killed In The Line Of Duty

This week, marks the one year anniversary of the murder of Richmond County Deputy J.D. Paugh.

Paugh was gunned down while checking on a suspicious vehicle near the Bobby Jones Expressway and Gordon Highway interchange.

That interchange is now named after Paugh in honor of his memory, and a foundation has also been set up in his name.

The foundation helps provide new equipment for local law enforcement agencies and offer support for offices and their families.

The Augusta Museum of History has Deputy Paugh's service motorcycle on display in an exhibit for fallen Augusta officers.
